This How.com.vn teaches you how to export a WhatsApp chat conversation as a text file, and send your chat logs to a contact in a different app, using Android.
Steps
- Open WhatsApp Messenger on your Android. The WhatsApp icon looks like a green speech bubble with a white phone in it. You'll find it on your Home screen or Apps menu.
- Tap the CHATS tab at the top. This will open a list of all your recent chat conversations.Advertisement
- Tap the chat you want to share. This will open the full conversation on a new page.
- Tap the ⋮ button on the top-right. This will open your chat options on a drop-down menu.
- Tap More on the menu. You'll find this option at the bottom of the drop-down. It will expand more menu options.
- Tap Export chat on the More menu. Your export options will slide in from the bottom of your screen.
- In some cases, you'll only have the option to email your chat. You'll see Email chat on the menu instead of Export chat.
- Select your sharing method. You can select any method here such as email, a social media app, or Wi-Fi Direct.
- You can also save the chat to your Android's local storage here.
- Your chat log will be converted to a text file with a ".txt" extension.
- Select a contact to share your chat log. Most apps will redirect you to your contacts list to select a contact and share your chat file. Find your contact and tap their name to select them as your recipient.
- If you're sharing the chat via email, you may have to manually enter your contact's email address into the "To" field.
- Tap the Send button. This will send your chat log file to your selected contact. They can open the text file, and read all your message correspondence in detail.Advertisement
