List of mosques in Algeria

This is a list of mosques in Algeria. According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowment in 2006, there are around 15,000 mosques in Algeria as a whole, of which 450 are in the capital city of Algiers. 90% of which are built after the independence of Algeria in 1962.[1]

Sidi Khaled Mosque
Town of Sidi Khaled in Biskra1912The current structure is a 1917 reconstruction. It is believed to contain the tomb of the pre-Islamic figure, Khalid bin Sinan, who is cited in local traditions as having moved to Algeria. It is currently in a state of disrepair but is still a popular spot for visits from locals.
