Tahsan Rahman Khan (born 18 October 1979)[3] is a Bangladeshi musician and actor. He was the former keyboardist and second vocalist of the Grunge and Alternative rock band Black. Currently he is the lead singer of his own band called Tahsan and the Band.[4]

Tahsan was born and raised in Dhaka. He started his musical career through the famous alternative rock band Black. Later he had left the band to pursue his solo music career. His first solo album is Kothopokothon which got released in 2004. He also started his career in television as an actor in 2004 with the drama “Offbeat” and has subsequently performed in more than 100 telefilms and movies combined. Tahsan was appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador of UNHCR in January 2021.[5]
Early life and education
editHe learned singing at Shishu Academy and Chhayanaut.[1] He attended A. G. Church School, St. Joseph Higher Secondary School and Notre Dame College, Dhaka. He obtained a BBA in marketing and an MBA in finance from the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka.[3] He completed a second MBA at the University of Minnesota on a Fulbright scholarship.[2]
In addition to music and acting career, Tahsan worked as a full time university teacher. He started his teaching career in 2006 and taught in some universities in Dhaka. He was a Senior Lecturer in BRAC University.[6]
Personal life
editKhan met Rafiath Rashid Mithila in 2004 when they were students at the University of Dhaka. They married in 2006. The couple announced their divorce in 2017.[7] Their daughter, Ayra Tehrim Khan, was four years old at the time.[8][9] His father died on 12 April 2023.[10]
