Talk:St Mary's Island, Kent

Removed reference to a cancer cluster and coverup among workers in the nuclear refit facility at Chatham Dockyards. 3 key reasons: violated NPOV, belongs in the Chatham Dockyards page, and the provided cite (House of Commons Hansard Debates 27/10/1997, pt 29) didn't say what the wiki text said it said. (it's also mis-cited - it should be Hansard 27 Oct 1997 Col 667). That doesn't mean it's wrong, but the original author should spend a little more time researching it, documenting it, wordsmithing it, and then put it in the right place. 76.208.30.30 (talk) 08:34, 13 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re the following text:

"A number of restaurants and other amenities have opened: Chimichanga, Nando's, Pizza Hut, Subway, Dickens World (a theme attraction, based on the works of Charles Dickens), and the Dockside Outlet Centre shopping precinct are all within a ten-minute walk. This also includes a Co-Operative supermarket and The Ship and Trades public house (a Shepherd Neame outlet)."

I don't think the article makes it clear enough that all of the above (plus two piers each suppporting a low-rise and a high-rise apartment block) are not actually on the island but just to the south of it, the main access for traffic and pedestrians being via a short bridge.
