Structure images
editI've added a space-filling model of the crystal structure to the infobox, and there are three further images available, which I'll put here in case needed.
Isoelectronic substances
editIn the article, it says:
- TlI3 is no exception as it is possible to stabilise thallium(III) with excess I− forming the TlI−
4 ion (isoelectronic with the tetraiodomercurate anion and with lead(IV) iodide).
How can lead tetraiodide, presumably a compound with neutral charge, be isoelectronic with an anion of single valence, tetraiodothallate (TlI−
4), and with a divalent anion, tetraiodomercurate (HgI2−
4) ?
